The Paperie opened on May 1st 2004 on National Scrapbooking Day. The business is the creation of an aunt and niece team of Christine Moores and Janna Cleary, both from Harbour Grace, Newfoundland. Chris and Janna started out creating custom wedding invitations from their homes under the name of Ladies on Ink. Seeing the need and interest for quality products among scrapbooking and rubber stamping enthusiasts in the local community, they decided to take the next step and opened their own retail storefront in St. John's, NL.
Chris and Janna are very proud to be the first Scrapbooking and Rubber Stamping store in Newfoundland and continue to strive to be the premiere resource for local "scrappers and stampers."
Both women are primary school teachers, and Janna continues to teach grade one French Immersion. Both being Moms and Chris a recent grandmother, they are always busy with new scrapbooking and stamping projects. Chris and Janna know how important it is to stay on top of the "latest and greatest" in the industry and continue to attend International Trade Shows to educate themselves and in turn, their valuable customers.
"We really want to create a community of crafters here in our own little space. We want our customers to feel welcome and inspired to create meaningful projects. We know that everyone has a story to tell and we want to help you explore your style in telling that story."
The Paperie is pleased to have on staff, Meghan and Meshell who are always ready to help their customers with everything from paper selection to birthday party hosting.
